Alliance Alumna Gives Commencement Speech at University of Hawai'i

In 2014 Annabelle Le Jeune came to our Program as a participant with a group of 50 Miami Dade College students. Last year, she returned to work with us as an Intern on our student programs. It truly was a pleasure to welcome her back. Here's what she said about her commencement speech:" "It took nearly 24 years, but at the end of 2017 I finally weaved my own story together and shared it in front of thousands of people—something I’ve never done before. I’m still overwhelmed by all the feedback, and still so happy to have represented my Fall class of 2017 at UH Manoa." https://www.facebook.com/AnnabelleLeJeune/videos/10212512409818152/?viewas=100000686899395&privacy_source=timeline_gear_menu

After the #MeToo movement opened a global floodgate of accounts of mistreatment, a former Chicago worker proposed a new campaign: "#WhatAboutUs." NY Times
